This Is Why Klopp Changed The Goal Nets At Liverpool

If you’re reading this then chances are you know everything that happened at Anfield over the weekend.

4-1 was the score as the final whistle was blown; The Reds had fundamentally destroyed the title holders in front of their largest home crowd since 1977 – but was there more to it than just liquid football?

It’s hard to argue that Liverpool looked almost impeccable against Leicester but Mr Klopp had made one minor, bizarre change just before the first whistle – and it could’ve made all the difference, reports Liverpool FC.

For the past four years, the nets of the Anfield goals have been lined with red netting – but Jurgen made sure they were changed to a classic white ahead of the clash with Leicester.

Why? Because on Thursday night’s training session, Klopp and the training staff at Liverpool noticed that the red netting blended in way too much with the sea of red shirts at the Kop end.

On a typical game night at Anfield both ends of the stadium are brimming with home team shirts, and if you’re trying to take a decent shot, apparently the red netting is indistinguishable from the crowd making it significantly harder to see the goal.

And whether you agree with Klopp’s reasoning or not it’s hard to argue against him considering the team in red bagged four goals against Ranieri’s reigning men.

As Alan Partridge would’ve said numerous times if he was watching the game: ‘Shittttt………..did you see that? He must have a foot like a traction engine!’

Here’s Dalian Atkinson Scoring First Ever Premier League ‘Goal Of The Season’

all sprt

Former Aston Villa player Dalian Atkinson has passed away after being Tasered by police.

While the details are unknown at this point, bar the fact it was by his father’s house in Telford and that the police claimed they were concerned about ‘the safety of an individual’, one thing is clear – it’s an utter tragedy.

Twitter has mourned the loss of the 48-year-old, who also played for Sheffield Wednesday, Manchester City and Ipswich Town, and videos of his goal for Villa in 1992 have gone viral.

That’s because Atkinson scored the Premier League’s first ever ‘goal of the season’.

Here it is:

The goal was sublime – imagine if Lionel Messi did that – we’d be going on about it for years.

RIP Darlian. What a tragic loss.

Justin Tucker says he just missed 85-yard field goal during warmups

Justin-Tucker

Baltimore Ravens kicker Justin Tucker is one of the best in the business at his craft, but does that mean he could shatter the NFL record for longest field goal by about 20 yards?

If the conditions were perfect, Tucker believes he could pull it off.

In an appearance on the NFL Network this week, Tucker was asked about Sebastian Janikowski’s horribly failed attempt at a 76-yard field goal during a game years ago. If the situation called for it, Tucker believes he could boot a field goal almost 85 yards. In fact, he says he once hit the crossbar on an 85-yard attempt during warmups in Denver.

“If conditions are prime — like last season we opened up in Denver, the weather was warm, the field was nice and you’re up in altitude, so the ball just carries,” Tucker said. “In pregame I think I hit the crossbar from 85. So, if the situation is just prime, maybe 84.5 yards.”

Tucker seemed serious, but we have to assume he was joking. The longest converted field goal in NFL history was a 64-yarder by Matt Prater — in Denver, of course — back in 2013. No one is kicking one 20 yards further than that. However, if Tucker thinks he can, perhaps we know why he recently gave the Ravens these demands.
