Draymond Green On Protesting NFL Players: ‘I’m Happy The Conversation Has Been Started And Actions Are Being Taken’

The first Sunday of the NFL season was highlighted by close contests and players from the Dolphins, Patriots and Chiefs protesting during the National Anthem.

Following the Dolphins loss to the Seahawks, Dolphins owner Steven Ross spoke with the media about the players’ protest and publicly supported them. Upon seeing what Ross had to say, Draymond Green turned to Twitter and applauded Mr. Ross for his comments while also saying that he is “happy the conversation has started and actions are being taken.”

Check out Mr. Ross’ comments and Draymond’s tweets:

Green is now the third Warriors player to publicly support the protesting NBA players. Over the weekend, Kevin Durant said he is “behind anyone who stands up for what they believe in” when asked about Colin Kaepernick and last week, reigning MVP Steph Curry told reporters that he applauds the quarterback for taking a stand.

Dear every kicker ever,

You have been doing onside kicks wrong your entire life. This is how you should do onside kicks moving forward. Every thing else is wrong. This is right.

Love,

SB Nation

Blake Griffin has been working hard, says he did not deserve a summer break

Blake-Griffin

Blake Griffin isn’t happy with how his previous season went, and he’s hard at work ensuring that it doesn’t happen again.

Griffin joined J.J. Redick’s “The Vertical” podcast recently and talked about his offseason, in which he’s taken about two weeks of vacation amidst an extensive workout program. He’s trying to steady himself after a difficult season that saw him deal with significant injuries and serve a team suspension for punching an equipment staffer.

“I took a week off after I had surgery and then started rehab a week after that, and I’ve been going all the way through,” Griffin said, via Rowan Kavner of the team’s official site. “I actually just got back from vacation, so I took a week off there, so basically two weeks this whole summer. I kind of had in my mind, I’m just going to go all the way through. In my mind, I didn’t deserve a summer break.”

Griffin has high hopes for the Clippers, and he feels they’re prepared to make a deep run.

“You have to be healthy,” Griffin said. “Guys have to be not just healthy like to where they can play or not, but healthy to play at 100 percent or close to 100 percent, because I don’t think anybody’s playing at 100 percent in the playoffs.

“This year I think our team is built for that run and built for that type of success. I’m excited.”

Griffin may not have taken much time off this summer, but he did find the time to try his hand at a new career path. It sounds like he’s very much committed to the basketball, though.

Ladarius Green refutes reports that he’s been suffering from headaches

Ladarius Green’s health has been the great mystery of the Pittsburgh Steelers’ offseason, but Green himself tried to set the record straight on Saturday.

The newly-signed tight end, who was reported to be suffering from headaches that were keeping him out of training camp, said that he has no idea where those rumors came from, per Mark Kaboly of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review.

Instead, the 26-year-old Green insisted that his absence was because of his ankle, which he underwent surgery on over the offseason (though Green does also say that he’s progressing on that front).

Green inked a four-year deal with Pittsburgh last March. For a player who suffered multiple concussions during his time as a San Diego Charger, this has to be a big sigh of relief for the Steelers and their fans.
