It is a short week for the Jets with a game in Buffalo on Thursday night. On Tuesday Jordan Jenkins didn’t practice. Same goes for Bryce Petty. Darryl Roberts was limited, Muhammad (Wilkerson) was limited, (David) Harris and Bruce Carter were limited.

Head coach Todd Bowles said that since Jenkins didn’t practice on Tuesday he doesn’t expect him to play on Thursday night. He does expect him to return for week three. Bowles said that Muhammad Wilkerson, “had a nail that just was removed from the game and it was a little sore, so he’s been limited a little bit.”

Petty Injures Shoulder; XRays Negative

http://i0.wp.com/www.truesportsfan.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/Petty.jpg?fit=640%2C480
Bryce Petty Post Game

The QB rotation for the final preseason game against the Philadelphia Eagles was scheduled to be split between Bryce Petty and Christian Hackenberg. That is what happened, but Hackenberg was called into action earlier than expected. Petty injured his shoulder after being tackled, a little late, on his touchdown pass. He never returned to the game after leaving the field.

The stat line on the night was really good for Petty. He went 4 of 6 passing with 87 yards and a touchdown. It completes a strong preseason for Petty, who made the Jets job much tougher when it comes to roster cuts. Here is a stat recap of the entire preseason for Petty.

The reports coming out after the game are saying that the X Rays were negative and Petty will undergo an MRI on Friday morning.

Scot McCloughan injures hand hitting wall in frustration after learning of injury

Scot McCloughan

The injuries to the Washington Redskins are having negative effects on the team beyond just the players who are hurt.

Washington GM Scot McCloughan actually injured his hand punching a wall in frustration after learning that first-round pick Josh Doctson had an Achilles’ tendon injury.

Former Washington TE Chris Cooley, who is a radio host, shared the story of McCloughan’s injury on ESPN 980.

“I said, ‘What happened to your hand?"” Cooley recalled on the radio, via the Richmond Times-Dispatch. “He said, when I found out about Doctson – which they thought was going to be much worse, the Doctson injury, apparently it isn’t going to be as bad – I punched the wall.”

You can see McCloughan’s bandaged hand in these photos:

Doctson injured himself in May but his injury isn’t supposed to be that bad. Though the former TCU receiver opened training camp on the physically unable to perform list, he is just day-to-day, which is much better than what McCloughan originally thought.

As for McCloughan, hopefully that hand injury goes away sooner than later.
