Minor leaguer’s foul ball makes ridiculous U-turn into fair territory (Video)

Insane Foul Ball

Do you believe in magic? If not, perhaps you just have affinity for physics? Either way, you’ll appreciate the bizarre U-turn a foul ball took off the bat of a minor league baseball player on Thursday night.

In the seventh inning of a game between the Las Vegas 51s (New York Mets) and the El Paso Chihuahuas (San Diego Padres), a foul ball off the bat of Las Vegas infielder Eric Campbell seemed to be heading towards the dugout. Then, in the blink of an eye, the ball took a miraculous U-turn and headed towards fair territory.

Frozen in surprise, Campbell watched helplessly as the ball was picked up by the first baseman, who promptly tagged the bag for the inning’s third out.

This isn’t the first time in baseball history the world of physics has come into play in such an extreme way. Back in 2012, a ball off the bat of Minnesota Twins shortstop Brian Dozier took a similar trajectory, but he chose to run out the play, ultimately beating the ball to first base for a single.

And that, kids, is why you’re always taught to hustle down the line no matter what.

adidas D Lillard 2 ‘Tennis Ball’

http://i1.wp.com/www.truesportsfan.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/adidas_DLillard2_Tennis_6.jpg?fit=640%2C427

The D Lillard 2 has been a hit. Dame’s second sneaker returns with a brand new crazy-ass texture and color, inspired by all the time he and his family members spent at a tennis court while they were growing up.

“The reason I wanted to make and wear those shoes at my first show was all for my family,” Dame said via an adidas press release. “When we were kids, we used to play all types of games on these tennis courts around the corner from my grandma’s house in Brookfield. When all my cousins and family came out on stage with me, it was like we were back on those tennis courts again.”

The stage Dame mentions was the one he recently performed on, while he was rocking the Tennis Ball 2s.

The upper, which feels like a tennis ball and was constructed with felt, is all dipped in fluorescent yellow. A very limited run of the “Tennis Ball” colorway will be available Aug 30 for $ 105 exclusively at Foot Locker 34th Street in New York City.

Collin McHugh has great reaction to Carlos Gomez losing ball in lights

Collin McHugh reaction

Carlos Gomez made two costly mistakes during the Houston Astros’ 3-1 loss to the Minnesota Twins on Monday night that essentially lost his team the game. Pitcher Collin McHugh’s reaction pretty much explained it all.

Gomez lost a fly ball from Jorge Polanco in the lights and let it fall for a triple to give the Twins a 2-0 lead in the fifth.

This came after Gomez had already misplayed a single by Jorge Polanco into a two-base error the batter before to make it 1-0. Again, the Twins won 3-1, so those two runs they got thanks to Gomez’s mistakes pretty much determined the game.

“The first one was hit really hard and I missed (it) in my glove, and the second one, I (didn’t) know where the ball was,” Gomez said after the game. “We lost the game because of that. I feel worse than anyone in this clubhouse.”

In addition to his defensive problems, Gomez went 0-for-3 with a strikeout at the plate and is now batting just .210. Ouch.

Montee Ball sentenced to 60 days in jail for domestic abuse incidents

http://i2.wp.com/www.truesportsfan.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/montee-ball.jpg?fit=492%2C286

Montee Ball

A once-promising NFL player who dominated at the college level, Montee Ball is now heading to jail.

Ball pleaded guilty on Thursday to two charges of disorderly conduct and one charge of battery stemming from his involvement in two separate domestic abuse incidents with two different women. The 25-year-old was sentenced to 60 days in jail and 18 months probation, according to the Milwaukee-Wisconsin Journal Sentinel.

In February, Ball was charged with battery and disorderly conduct after his girlfriend told police the former Denver Bronco threw her across the room during an argument and struck her in the face during a previous incident. Just over a month later, Ball was charged with strangulation and suffocation and substantial battery — both felonies — after his ex-girlfriend said she had also been assaulted back in 2014.

Ball was most recently with the New England Patriots as a practice squad player but was released over the winter following his arrest.
