Dwyane Wade: Donald Trump Tweet ‘Left a Bad Taste in My Mouth’

Dwyane Wade, in an interview with “Good Morning America” that aired Friday, addressed his cousin’s recent death in a drive-by shooting.

Donald Trump callously used the tragedy for political gain, and Wade says the presidential candidate’s words didn’t sit well with him.

The Bulls guard says his presence in Chicago goes beyond basketball.

Does Heat Owner Micky Arison’s Recent Tweet Hint At Chris Bosh’s Return Next Season?

Amid all the turmoil surrounding the Miami Heat this off-season, Chris Bosh‘s playing status still looms large. His season was cut short for the second year in a row last spring due to life-threatening blood clots that have put his NBA career in jeopardy. But there’s reason for optimism.

Earlier this week, Bosh announced that he’d returned to the basketball court and was ostensibly gearing up for the coming season, although Heat brass have remained noncommittal up to this point. That appears to be changing, at least somewhat, according to a recent tweet from Heat owner Micky Arison directed at Bosh.

There was disagreement between Bosh and the front office toward the end of last season as Bosh and his camp proposed that he be allowed to play while taking blood thinners for his condition, but the organization balked at that notion, and eventually the league stepped in and prevented him from returning.

Arison’s highly-public tweet would seem to indicate that there is significant progress on that front; however, an appearance at training camp doesn’t necessarily mean that Bosh is ready for a full-fledged return. Team president Pat Riley has said previously that it could be closer to the start of training camp at the end of next month before they make any sort of official statement.

Don Cheadle Calls Donald Trump A ‘POS’ After Trump’s Controversial Dwyane Wade Tweet

When Donald Trump wants to snag a headline, he knows how to do it. The latest headline grab took the death of NBA player Dwyane Wade’s cousin and used it for Trump’s own political gain via a Twitter post that has left many with a bad taste in their mouths. There have been a lot of reactions to Trump’s politicizing the death, but actor Don Cheadle went out of his way on Saturday to call attention to how inappropriate he felt the tweet was.

The actor took to social media this morning, Deadline reports, and didn’t hold back with his pointed criticism of Trump for taking such a sad incident and trying to use it for his own purposes.

Cheadle then found himself amid a squall of Trump supporters hurling insults at him throughout the day. Cheadle handed out replies and insults all while his Twitter icon was changed to an illustration of Andy Kaufman stepping out of a Donald Trump bodysuit.

Needless to say, Don Cheadle has made it pretty clear that he’s not a fan of Donald Trump and he will not be voting for him come this election season. Trump did sort of issue a tweet that was more in line with what a political candidate should be saying while in the public eye, but it wasn’t an apology.

Trump has not engaged with Don Cheadle or even tweeted that he was a loser. Yet.

Bobby Petrino: My Twitter account was hacked for smut tweet

http://i2.wp.com/www.truesportsfan.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/bobby-petrino-twitter.jpg?fit=576%2C1024

Louisville football coach Bobby Petrino sent a statement on Thursday that attributed some inappropriate Twitter activity on his account to hacking.

Some people on Twitter noticed Wednesday that Petrino’s Twitter account had “liked” a smut tweet.

Here’s the statement Petrino sent in response:

“I was alerted this morning that there was inappropriate material on my official Twitter account. While the account is generally under my supervision, there are multiple people, and possibly an unauthorized user who have access to my account. We’ve always taken the appropriate steps to make sure our official social media accounts are secure and are we taking measures to make sure this situation never happens again.”

Getting caught up in a thing like this typically would be bad news for a coach, but it’s really nothing when you’re used to much worse scandals like Petrino.

Nikola Mirotic posts funny tweet ahead of USA-Spain semifinal matchup

As Spain looks ahead to a highly-anticipated semifinal matchup against the United States in the Olympic men’s basketball tournament on Friday, forward Nikola Mirotic’s Twitter game is in top form.

On Thursday, Mirotic posted an image of him and Chicago Bulls teammate Jimmy Butler, who is competing for Team USA, with a caption quoting a famous slogan of American president (and noted Bulls fan) Barack Obama.

Mirotic has reason to feel confident after his 23 points led Spain to a blowout quarterfinal victory over rivals France on Wednesday. Still, with the United States heavily favored to win and Pau Gasol possibly out with a calf injury, Mirotic may have to prepare himself for a more graceful showing in defeat than he exhibited last time around.

This Prophetic Olympian Sent Out A Tweet That Predicted Her Own Future Five Years Ago

Every athlete dreams of making it to the Olympics some day. It’s a lifelong goal, something that most people strive towards from the time that they’re a kid.

Plenty of Olympic hopefuls will do things to motivate themselves to one day get to the grandest stage in sports. You’ll hear these stories during the Olympics every year, and at Rio 2016, you’re going to hear the story of Morolake Akinosun over and over. Back in 2011, Akinosun tweeted this:

For someone who is 17, this is a really ambitious set of goals. For most people, your No. 1 goal when you’re 17 is to pass a high school trigonometry exam, but for Akinosun, it was to graduate from college and make it onto the U.S. Olympic Track and Field team.

Well, let’s fast forward to Saturday afternoon. It’s been five years since Akinosun sent her original tweet, and she decided to let everyone know that she called her shot.

That’s right, Akinosun is one of the best sprinters in the United States. She competed at the 2016 NCAA Track and Field Championships earlier this year for the University of Texas and recorded top-4 finishes in the 100 meters, 200 meters, and 4×400 meter relay. Additionally, she competed at the U.S. Olympic Trials and earned a spot on the team that’s heading down to Rio a little later in this month in the 4×100 meter relay pool. While it’s not guaranteed that she’ll compete, she still earned the opportunity to head down, which is amazing.

This is normally the spot where someone would say that Akinosun should try playing the lottery next, but in all seriousness, this is quite the accomplishment. Back when she was a teenager, she strived to get a degree and make it to the 2016 Olympics. While she’s going to have to wait a few months for the first thing, Akinosun has accomplished the second thing, and it’s really admirable that she set goals, worked hard, and eventually achieved them.
