Kerry Wood rips Joe West over Joe Maddon ejection

http://i2.wp.com/www.truesportsfan.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/Joe-Maddon-Joe-West.jpg?fit=600%2C345

The crankiest umpire in Major League Baseball was at it again Monday night, this time ejecting Chicago Cubs manager Joe Maddon in the ninth inning over a situation that surely could have been avoided.

After Jeremy Hazelbaker of the St. Louis Cardinals broke up Cubs pitcher Kyle Kendricks’ no-hit bid to leadoff the ninth, some Chicago players tried to have a mound visit to buy closer Aroldis Chapman more time to warm up. We see that all the time in baseball, and you would think West would be even more understanding of it after a guy loses a no-hitter with three outs to go.

Instead, West stopped Cubs catcher Miguel Montero in his tracks and told him not to join his teammates on the mound. That infuriated Maddon, who came storming out of the dugout to launch four-letter words at the man they call “Cowboy Joe.”

Your browser does not support iframes.

You can’t blame Maddon for being angry. West has a reputation for going on power trips, and not allowing a reliever more time to get loose is another example of one. Shortly after the incident took place, former Cubs pitcher Kerry Wood retweeted a bunch of tweets mocking West. He then added some commentary of his own:

Again, West is known for this stuff. He tosses players and managers out all the time (here’s another example), and oftentimes he is clearly looking for trouble. While you can understand him wanting to keep the game moving in that situation, there was no need to stop Montero like that and make a big spectacle out of it.

NCAA to Pull Championship Games From North Carolina Over Controversial ‘Bathroom Law’

http://i1.wp.com/www.truesportsfan.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/GettyImages-483303781-620x413.jpg?fit=620%2C413
INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — The NCAA has pulled seven championship events from North Carolina, including opening-weekend men’s basketball tournament games, for the coming year due to a state law that some say can lead to discrimination against LGBT people.

In a news release Monday, the NCAA says the decision by its board of governors came “because of the cumulative actions taken by the state concerning civil rights protections.”

Ronald Martinez/Getty Images

Ronald Martinez/Getty Images

“This decision is consistent with the NCAA’s long-standing core values of inclusion, student-athlete well-being and creating a culture of fairness,” said Georgia Tech president G.P. “Bud” Peterson, the chair of the board of governors.

The law — known as HB2 — requires transgender people to use restrooms at schools and government buildings corresponding to the sex on their birth certificates. It also excludes gender identity and sexual orientation from local and statewide antidiscrimination protections.

HB2 was signed into law by Gov. Pat McCrory earlier this year.

The NCAA’s release also noted that five states and several cities prohibit travel to the state for public employees and representatives of public institutions, which could include athletes and staffs. The only championship events that can be hosted in the state are ones determined when a team earns the right to play on their own campus.

The men’s basketball first- and second-round games were scheduled for March 17 and 19 in Greensboro. The NCAA will also relocate:
— the Division I women’s soccer championship scheduled for Dec. 2 and 4 in Cary, just outside the capital city of Raleigh;

— the Division III men’s and women’s soccer championships set for Dec. 2 and 3 in Greensboro;

— the Division I women’s golf regional championships set for May 8-10 in Greenville;

— the Division III men’s and women’s tennis championships set for May 22-27 in Cary;

— the Division I women’s lacrosse championship set for May 26 and 28 in Cary;

— and the Division II baseball championship from May 27 to June 3 in Cary.

The law has created a public and business backlash, which includes the NBA moving the 2017 All-Star Game to New Orleans instead of hosting it in Charlotte as originally scheduled because of the law. Duke lost a men’s basketball game from its schedule when Albany backed out due to that state’s travel ban, while the Vermont women’s basketball team has canceled a December trip to play North Carolina in Chapel Hill.

Entertainers like Bruce Springsteen, Pearl Jam and Ringo Starr have canceled plans to play in North Carolina. And PayPal reversed plans to open a 400-employee operation center in Charlotte.

JJ Watt feared his career was over while rehabbing from injury

http://i1.wp.com/www.truesportsfan.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/jj-watt.jpg?fit=600%2C374

JJ Watt

Texans defensive lineman J.J. Watt admitted that he feared for his career as he rehabbed from his recent surgery.

Watt was essentially unable to do much of anything for a ten-day period after his surgery back in April, and he revealed that he had a tough time coping.

“A few of (the abdominal muscles) were fully off the bone,” Watt revealed Wednesday, via Chris Wesseling of NFL Media. “A few of them were partial torn. That was pretty serious stuff.

“When I was in Philadelphia after the first surgery, there were some days there where I really, really questioned whether or not I would ever be able to play again,” Watt added. “There was a very low point there. It was tough. I was in a hotel room in Philadelphia for I think 10 days straight not being able to really walk or do anything. There was definitely a tough point there.”

The rest is history, though, as Watt is slated to play in the season opener. Still, the revelation sheds some light on why Watt may have made these comments early in the offseason.

Klopp warns Sakho over Reds return

http://i2.wp.com/www.truesportsfan.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/602118db6cb23172554f9d275c7c923515c5e9e8.jpg?fit=640%2C413

London (AFP) – Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has warned Mamadou Sakho he will have a difficult task to regain his place after a troubled few months.

France centre-back Sakho missed the final weeks of Liverpool’s season and then Euro 2016 after being given a provisional 30-day suspension for a failed drugs test in April.

That ban was not extended but Sakho’s problems weren’t over as he was sent home from Liverpool’s pre-season tour of the United States due to his poor attitude.

Klopp told Sakho to go out on loan to show he was prepared to work to win back his place, but the 26-year-old turned down moves to Stoke, West Bromwich Albion and Besiktas before the August 31 transfer deadline.

While Klopp insists he still trusts Sakho, the defender’s attempt to rehabilitate his reputation may take some time.

“He couldn’t play football for a long time. It makes sense after a long break you think about how you can get match time and that is difficult here because the other players are fit and hopefully stay fit,” Klopp said on Thursday.

“I spoke to him before the window closed because that is the moment to make decisions and that is what I did.

“Not only with Mama but with all the players I told them all what I thought would be best and now the squad is like it is.

“It is not a problem. He doesn’t have to gain my trust.”

Sakho had impressed Klopp before his difficult end to last season, but with Dejan Lovren, Joel Matip and Ragnar Klavan now ahead of him in the defensive pecking order it will be tough to get back in the team.

“I am not silly enough to forget good performances but in the end we will see what happens,” Klopp said.

“Now it is about making Mama fit – what he isn’t after this long time with suspension and injury – and we will see what happens.

“I have no idea what happens when because it is who plays how, who performs when, our results.

“At the end Mama knows and I know and from my side that is enough.”

Kansas fans storm field after blowout victory over Rhode Island

http://i0.wp.com/www.truesportsfan.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/kansas-fans-field-storm.jpg?fit=600%2C344

kansas-fans-field-storm

The debate over just what kind of victory merits a court/field storming is an ages-old question. Kansas football fans certainly thought they were justified after a blowout win over lowly Rhode Island on Saturday night.

The Jayhawks defeated the Rams by the final of 55-6 at Memorial Stadium, and their fans decided to celebrate by storming the field, per Jesse Newell of the Kansas City Star.

The argument for storming: it was Kansas Football’s first victory since November 2014, breaking a 15-game losing streak that included an 0-12 season in 2015. The Jayhawks aren’t particularly known for their football program either, having not made it to a bowl game since 2008 and compiling an all-time losing record (580–610–58) since the program’s inception in 1890. As such, victories like this probably don’t come around all that often for the KU faithful.

The argument against storming: Rhode Island Football is probably even weaker, having won a grand total of five (!!!) games since 2011, despite playing in the weak Colonial Athletic Association (CAA). Furthermore, a 49-point margin of victory makes storming seem a little excessive, and the Kansas fans were even told over the PA to knock it off “for the respect of this program.”

Well, at least Kansas finally got to experience what it was like to dine on the other end of the table.

Nick Saban not ‘pleased’ with Alabama’s 46-point win over USC

http://i2.wp.com/www.truesportsfan.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/NIck-Saban.jpg?fit=600%2C361

Nick Saban

If you want to understand what makes Nick Saban great, just take one look at his comments following Alabama’s win over USC on Saturday.

The Crimson Tide smacked the Trojans 52-6, handing USC — a traditional football powerhouse — its worse loss in a season opener in school history. Despite the large margin of victory, Saban wasn’t happy enough with his team’s performance.

“If you want to know the truth about it, I wasn’t pleased with the way we played,” Saban said after the game via Sports on Earth’s David Ubben.

He continued on that same line of thinking.

See, Saban is less concerned about the outcome but more concerned about the process.

Alabama was only up 17-3 going into halftime and the offense especially did not look good for the first half of the game. He knows that if they play that way against a tougher opponent, they’ll be in trouble. That’s why despite looking crazy on the surface, Saban’s comments actually make sense. The comments are also a reflection of Saban’s perfectionist nature.

Iheanacho gives Nigeria victory over Tanzania

http://i1.wp.com/www.truesportsfan.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/4e1571d7d7db86953380d3ef0a5b0dedeb8d963d.jpg?fit=640%2C426

Abuja (AFP) – Manchester City ace Kelechi Iheanacho scored the only goal of the game to give Nigeria their first win of an underwhelming Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign on Saturday in Uyo.

With the 1-0 success, Nigeria finished the group stage on five points, while Tanzania were bottom of a three-team group already won by Egypt.

The Super Eagles created a rash of chances in this dead rubber game, but wasteful finishing and the brilliance of goalkeeper Aishi Manula ensured they had to wait until the 78th minute to snatch victory at the Akwa Ibom International Stadium.

It was a winning start for new coach Gernot Rohr, but he certainly knows his team will have to improve their shooting in time for next month’s World Cup qualifier in Zambia.

The Eagles created a rash of chances in the first 45 minutes, but couldn’t not make any of them count against an inspired Manula.

In the 12th minute, skipper Mikel Obi released Ahmed Musa, but the Leicester City star failed to tuck away the opening.

On 24 minutes, Manula denied Iheanacho, before Victor Moses fluffed another chance two minutes later.

Three minutes from half time, Manula pulled off a big save to deny Odion Ighalo.

It was a similar story in the second half with Mikel denied by Manula after 59 minutes but 19-year-old Iheanacho conjured a wonder strike 12 minutes from time to finally break the deadlock.

The Internet Freaked Out Over Iman Shumpert’s Surprise VMA Appearance In A Kanye West Video

http://i0.wp.com/www.truesportsfan.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/iman-shumper-fade.jpg?fit=640%2C353

MTV

Iman Shumpert made his return to Madison Square Garden on Sunday. Well, kind of: the 2016 VMAs are taking place at MSG, and the former Knick made a bizarre appearance in the video for Kanye West’s “Fade” that no one saw coming. The video features Shumpert’s significant other, Teyana Taylor, dancing in an empty gym before going into the shower, where she stands with Shumpert.

It was an insane moment from a video just as crazy as you’d expect out of Kanye. It also led to people on the internet going wild, because no one could really believe that Shump actually showed up in the video.

A few people saw Shumpert’s cameo and had the same reaction: if he’s appearing butt naked in a Kanye video, it must be a good sign for the Cavs’ chances in 2016.

Some decided to make fun of Shumpert, pointing out that when he was on the Knicks, he never had a performance quite like this in Madison Square Garden.

But most people took a more optimistic view of Shumpert’s performance, noting that between this and the whole “he was on the team that won the NBA Finals” thing, he’s had one heck of a year.

  • The best part? Kanye tweeted out the video after his performance, so if you missed it (or if you want to watch it again), you can do that right here. The only bad news is that you have to sign up for Tidal, because of course.

Danny Valencia, Billy Butler fight reportedly over sponsor remark

http://i0.wp.com/www.truesportsfan.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/danny-valencia.jpg?fit=600%2C380

Danny Valencia

Billy Butler was unavailable to play over the weekend after suffering complications following his fight with teammate Danny Valencia. Now we have an idea of what led to the fight.

According to the San Francisco Chronicle’s Susan Slusser, the two Oakland A’s teammates fought on Friday night after Butler made some comments to a product rep about the cleats Valencia wears. The rep apparently noticed that Valencia had another company’s shoes in his locker, and Valencia dismissed the concern by saying he only wears them pregame. Butler apparently said otherwise to the rep and reportedly suggested the company drop Valencia.

Valencia then supposedly confronted Butler about messing with his endorsement deal, and Butler did not back down. They reportedly bumped heads in the clubhouse and Valencia punched Butler in the temple.

Butler was not scheduled to play on Friday night anyhow, but he missed games on Saturday and Sunday he otherwise would play in because of nausea and vomiting. Slusser says Valencia could face a suspension or even be released for the incident.

We doubt Valencia gets released. The infielder is batting .302 with 15 home runs and has put together two excellent seasons in Oakland. Butler has one more year left on his contract with the A’s.

Ray Allen motivated by extending 3-point record over Steph Curry?

http://i2.wp.com/www.truesportsfan.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/Ray-Allen-1.jpg?fit=600%2C359

Ray-Allen

Ray Allen is looking to make an NBA comeback after two seasons off, and the 41-year-old has made it clear he would only return for a chance to win a third championship. But is Allen also motivated by his most impressive personal feat?

With 2,973 three-pointers converted in his career, Allen is the NBA’s all-time leader in three-point shooting. Stephen Curry, who, having made 1,593 three-pointers in his career, is more than halfway to breaking Allen’s record after just seven NBA seasons. Allen has played 18.

According to Gary Washburn of The Boston Globe, Allen wants to hold onto his record. In an appearance on 98.5 The Sports Hub’s “Toucher and Rich Show” Tuesday, Washburn speculated that distancing himself from Curry is one of the driving forces behind Allen’s desire to play another season.

“Ray wants to play again. I’m sure about that,” Washburn said, as transcribed by Dan Feldman of Pro Basketball Talk. “I don’t think he particularly enjoys watching Stephen Curry rain threes and challenge his record and be called the best shooter in the world. I think that bothers him. I know Ray wants to extend his all-time three-point record.”

If Curry can remain healthy and his skills don’t decline dramatically, he should surpass Allen in about six more seasons. If Allen returns for another NBA season (presumably in a limited role), he might be able to add another season to that.

While Curry is likely to break Allen’s record at some point, we can’t assume he’ll be the same Steph Curry at age 34. Any three-pointers Allen hits at this point are basically a bonus, though it seems like that is not his top priority based on the teams he is hoping to join.

Enes Kanter’s family reportedly disowned him over political views

http://i0.wp.com/www.truesportsfan.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/enes-kanter-thunder-1.jpg?fit=585%2C371

Enes Kanter Thunder

Enes Kanter has opened himself up for a great deal of criticism by sharing his views on politics in his native country of Turkey. That apparently is not limited to fans who know him as an NBA player, as Kanter’s family is also said to have disowned him.

A story from Seyma Eraz and Yunus Paksoy of Daily Sabah explains how members of Kanter’s family turned their backs on the Oklahoma City Thunder center after he criticized Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdogan. That includes Kanter’s father Mehmet, who recently wrote a letter apologizing for his son’s views on the Turkish government.

“I apologize to the Turkish people and the president for having such a son,” Mehmet wrote. “His statements and behavior trouble our family. I told Enes that we would disown him should he not change his course. He did not care. … I would not have taken Enes to the U.S. for the basketball camp where his talent was discovered had I known that it would come to this point.”

Mehmet believes Enes has been “hypnotized” by the Gülenist Terror Organization (FETÖ). Mehmet’s cousin Bilal expressed the same opinion.

“We had warned (Enes) previously about his ties with the FETÖ,” Bilal said. “We have not been able to reach out to Enes for a long time.”

Kanter spoke out against Ergodan following a terrorist bombing that killed 37 people in Turkey back in March. He criticized the nation for blocking access to social media and filtering the information people receive, and Kanter’s tweets led to death threats. Last year, Kanter said he believed he was left off Turkey’s 2015 Eurobasket team because of his political views.

Many of us have grown to appreciate Kanter’s sense of humor based on his hilarious tweets. Despite his fun-loving personality, it would appear Kanter has a lot of personal issues he deals with off the court.

Paul George’s 20 Points Leads Team USA to a 113-69 Victory Over Venezuela

http://i0.wp.com/www.truesportsfan.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/GettyImages-587472326.jpg?fit=640%2C427

In their second preliminary matchup of the 2016 Olympics, Team USA found a way to overcome an extremely slow start, with too many turnovers, en route to a 44-point win.

There were five ties through the game’s first quarter, with an 18-18 tie after one. Venezuela was very successful in slowing the Americans scorching hot pace. Kobe Bryant‘s 35-year-old cousin, John Cox, scored 7 of Venezuela’s first 9 points and helped to establish a halfcourt, foul-and-turnover-filled first 15 minutes. At one point, the Americans had 9 field goals, 8 turnovers and 7 assists.

With his squad up 28-22, Carmelo Anthony stripped Venezuelan big man Gregory Echenique and hit a big three-ball in transition to start to break the game open. Anthony and Kevin Durant took care of the scoring in the first half–11 and 10 points for each of them–while Jimmy Butler and DeAndre Jordan injected some much needed energy into the Americans. They were a major reason the Americans outscored the Venezuelans 30-8 in the second quarter.

Paul George scored 12 of his 20 points in the second half. He got buckets in bunches and provided the exclamation point with a big dunk in the closing moments of the fourth.

Cox led Venezuela in scoring with 19. Team USA finished with 24 assists and 11 turnovers. At the start of the third, they stopped settling for jumpers and began bulldozing their way to the rim. With the lead in the high 30s in the fourth, Coach Mike Krzyzewski experimented with a small lineup of George, Butler, DeMar DeRozan, Kyle Lowry and Harrison Barnes, which could be something to keep an eye on.

George and the Americans are back in action on Wednesday night, at 6 EST, against Australia.

Lavoy Allen trolls Paul George over getting crossed up against China

During a comfortable victory by the United States men’s basketball team over China in their opening game of the Rio Olympics, Paul George was the victim of a crossover by Zhao Jiwei that sent the Pacers star to the floor. The following day, one of George’s teammates in Indiana had jokes.

Lavoy Allen took to his Twitter account on Sunday saying he was going to start up a collection so George’s ankles can be laid to rest.

In case you’re wondering if George had a response, he did. The three-time NBA All-Star made use of the middle finger emoji.

After the game, George denied getting crossed up and gave his side of the story. You can see what he said here. I don’t think Lavoy Allen is buying it.

Paul George denies getting crossed in win over China, blames sneakers

USA Basketball cruised to a 119-62 victory over China in their first taste of official Olympic action on Saturday, but the win came at the expense of Paul George’s ankles.

With the game winding down in the fourth quarter, George got his ankles banished to the shadow realm with a quick crossover by Chinese guard Zhao Jiwei that sent him sprawling to the hardwood.

But after the game, George refused to acknowledge that he had been crossed, instead placing the blame squarely on his shoes for having too much grip.

Whatever you say, PG. Did the dog eat your homework too? Was your Twitter account hacked as well? But I suppose for George to even make his way back into Olympic competition again is commendable, so the three-time All-Star has probably earned himself a pass on this one.

Lucky 13 for rampant US women over France in Rio football

Rio de Janeiro (AFP) – The USA’s women’s quest for a fourth straight football gold remains firmly on track after captain Carli Lloyd ensured their 13th consecutive win in the Olympics with a 1-0 victory over France on Saturday.

World Player of the Year Lloyd, who also netted the Americans’ opener in a 2-0 win against New Zealand on Wednesday, slotted home the only goal in Belo Horizonte after Tobin Heath’s initial effort came back off the post.

Victory virtually guarantees the USA’s spot in the quarter-finals with one Group G game still to come against Colombia on Tuesday.

France had impressed in thrashing Colombia 4-0 in their opening game and had the better of the first 45 minutes.

However, American keeper Hope Solo made a huge save to deny Marie Laure Delie on her 200th international appearance.

The world champions improved after the break and were rewarded when Lloyd was characteristically in the right place at the right time to score the winner.

Canada edged closer to the knockout stages with their second win in as many games against tournament debutants Zimbabwe 3-1 in Sao Paulo.

Janine Beckie scored twice, whilst veteran striker Christine Sinclair scored her 163rd international goal from the penalty spot.

Hosts Brazil are also looking to seal their place in the quarter-finals later on Saturday after a fine 3-0 win over China in their opener when they face Sweden at the Olympic stadium in Rio.

Report: Padres under scrutiny over medical records disclosure

http://i1.wp.com/www.truesportsfan.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/drew-pomeranz-padres.jpg?fit=600%2C439

Drew Pomeranz

The San Diego Padres were one of the busiest teams ahead of the MLB trade deadline, and now they’re drawing some scrutiny around MLB regarding their disclosure of medical records.

In two separate trades the Padres made ahead of the deadline, teams with whom they dealt may not have felt San Diego completely disclosed all medical issues related to the players, according to ESPN’s Buster Olney.

In one trade, the Padres dealt All-Star pitcher Drew Pomeranz to the Boston Red Sox. Boston reportedly believes Pomeranz has some medical issues that were not fully disclosed during the trade talks. Pomeranz has made four starts with the Red Sox, allowing five runs in two of them, and two runs over six innings in the other two.

Another trade the Padres made was a 7-player deal with the Marlins. San Diego traded Andrew Cashner, Colin Rea and Tayron Guerrero to Miami and received Luis Castillo, Jarred Cosart, Josh Naylor and Carter Capps. After Rea had to leave his first start with the Marlins due to an elbow problem and quickly landed on the DL, Miami was livid. They felt they had been traded damaged goods, so they traded Rea back to the Padres for Castillo.

According to Olney, MLB is aware of the issues and is reviewing the concerns. Standard practice is for teams to share medical records for players involved in trades. It’s also up to the teams receiving new players to conduct their own physical examinations of players they are receiving.

However you look at it, it’s a busy week for Padres executives, especially Ron Fowler, who’s in the middle of a controversy involving other players the team traded.

Enes Kanter is thrilled that Russell Westbrook decided to sign an extension with the Oklahoma City Thunder, and the big man is letting everyone hear about it.

On Wednesday night, Kanter shared a photo on Twitter that trolled the Lakers using the infamous crying Jordan face meme:

The following morning, Kanter turned his attention toward trolling Kevin Durant:

Kanter has, in many ways, been the voice of Thunder fans this offseason. He jumped all over Durant by sending this tweet after K.D. signed with the Golden State Warriors. Kanter also unloaded on a writer who said no one wants to play alongside Westbrook.

Now that the Thunder have Westbrook under contract for at least two more seasons, they can focus on trying to become a contender without Durant. Kanter will handle all the jokes, so they don’t have to worry about that.

Arizona Cardinals LB Deone Bucannon blasts Madden over rating

Deone Bucannon

Arizona Cardinals linebacker Deone Bucannon had 112 tackles, three sacks, three forced fumbles and an interception last season. Those kinds of numbers earned him some respect around the league, but apparently the makers of Madden 17 are a little slow to catch on.

Bucannon has an overall rating of just 78 in the game. That’s not sitting well with him. He blasted the game’s Twitter account over his low rating:

“SMFH” is an acronym for shaking my bleeping head.

The highest-rated player on the Cardinals is DB Tyrann Mathieu, who has a 96. The Honey Badger thinks Madden hasn’t done their homework on Bucannon:

Maybe the tweet will get Madden’s attention and help the video game give him some respect when they do their reevaluation. At least he’s attacking his disappointment with his rating more directly than this Broncos QB.

Andrew Bogut mocks Rio over poor athlete housing conditions

Andrew-Bogut-Olympic-village

It’s no secret that the Olympic village where the athletes are staying in Rio is not the most glamorous of places, and Dallas Mavericks center Andrew Bogut provided us with a closer look at it on Monday night.

Using the hashtag #IOCLuxuryLodging, Bogut mocked the housing conditions in a series of tweets. In one of them, he showed himself rigging up a shower curtain so he and his roommate could “shower and not flood the place.”

This should be fun.

If you remember, the Australian Olympic Committee previously deemed its section of the Olympic village in Rio uninhabitable, listing a number of alarming concerns about the accommodations after running some early tests. Bogut, of course, is playing for the Australian national basketball team.

Draymond Green seems intent on male genitalia being a defining element of his NBA reputation. Following a postseason in which he was suspended a game for repeatedly attacking the opposition’s lower jewels, Green got caught in the internet’s crosshairs again on Sunday when an alleged picture of his own member circulated around on Twitter and elsewhere.

Green tweeted that he was “hacked,” which is the go-to thing to say these days when you do dumb stuff online:

The internet, predictably, went off.

More on this as the story develops.
